On Saturday, March 14, 2015, the Mike Muth Scholarship Fund celebrated its 20th anniversary. Guests in attendance included Mike Muth’s sons, members of the 1959-1963 Palmetto High School boys basketball team, former recipients of the scholarship, board members of the Fund, members of the Williamston Town Council, Palmetto High School staff members, donors to the Fund, and other Williamston community members. Gertrude Muth, who passed away in early June 2015, was in attendance to celebrate the scholarship fund established in honor of her son. In the 20 years since the inception of the Fund, over 30 scholarships have been awarded to Palmetto High School seniors to help defray the costs of their post-secondary education.
